Feel free to download and experiment with these Guitar Rig presets. I came up with these presets by tweaking the available components. Guitar Rig is a powerful amp simulation software. Stacking loops on top of each other is fun to practice but remember to use it as a tool to enhance the story you're telling.Free downloads ♫ These are Native Instruments’ Guitar Rig presets. The key point is to ensure that no matter how involved or simple your rig is, always make it beneficial to you creating music. Looping is simply the tool that allows me to create a sonic foundation for myself to further express my creativity through all of the instruments I play. In summary, as a live musician I really enjoy the versatility and freedom of being able to seamlessly switch between instruments in order to play music. I use this setup for my drum and percussion groups, as well as any synth vsts I like to play with when I'm feeling jazzy. Because the HX stomp is also an interface, I figured you can use it as a 'live rig' so i made a set in ableton live that allows me to program scenes, record loops within the daw, trigger clips, and even automate some of the functions in between songs (like muting instruments or arming tracks) This would also free up a dsp block for me to use more effects on some of my presets. I would still be limited to the internal looper on the hx stomp, so in the near future I might get an external looper like an This way I can have more than 2 instruments connected to the stomp. I have a 2 mic setup tracking the sax on a wet and dry channel into the mixer, and then I use one the mixer's output to go into the return channel of the hx stomp. For this setup I can involve more instruments because I can program the expression pedal to control the input volumes for whichever instrument I'm looping. Is the HX Stomp with a small personal 8 channel mixer, and the Mission Engineering Exp/Footwitch pedal. The trick is getting the timing down well enough to make it all sound good. I have done this to layer bass and guitar loops. If your presets are next to each other, and both have a looper block on the 3rd footswitch, both loops will save as you go back and forth on presets. The 3rd footswitch is programmed to the internal 1 switch looper that is in the HX Stomp. I program the first 2 footswitches to switch presets between songs, or loops.
I simply include the hx stomp, my guitar and or bass, and an frfr pa for my 'amp'. I have actually come up with several setups depending on the needs I need to fulfill for the specific gig, or jam, or even recording session. So the HX stomp is kind of a swiss army knife when it comes to live looping. I also saw this video on YouTube (sorry if Im not supposed to link directly here idk the sub rules.)īut that video ^ explains the setup for a reamp situation. I don't always use every input and output but its cool to know how they can be used so you have options. I think that it clearly explains how each input and output is applicable to you and your daw. I highly highly recommend looking thru the HX Stomp user manual, specifically pages 55-58. Only active if you're also using the matching 5/6 input, and is used for reamping purposes. That way I can have a click in my ear, if I feel like it.ĥ/6: reamping output. I use this as a click track and I can send other ableton tracks out this path so I can avoid sending it thru the master output which is what everyone else will hear. Digital inputs and outputs are made possible thru the usb.ħ/8: HX Stomp's return inputs, dry no processingġ/2: Main output, includes HX stomp direct monitoring, as well as your Daw's master output.ģ/4: HX Stomp's stereo send. Analog inputs and outputs are on the back of the hx stomp.
